I had a skein of sock yarn that was in such a sweet colorway that it could only become a pair of sweet lace socks. Merezhka is a style of embroidery from Ukraine, where strands of fabric are pulled out creating floats over which embroidered stitches are worked. It creates different ways of "ladders" that I am reminded of with this knitting pattern.
