Enough leftover cotton yarn inspired me to make coasters, placemats and cozies for beverage containers. It is a good project to use up your stash of left-overs! I used cotton, but acrylic is perfectly acceptable and even wool. If using wool yarn, remember it can not be tossed into the laundry "willy-nilly". It occurred to me as I wrote this description that placemats made in 100% wool yarn would felt beautifully and would make interesting placemats. Experiment, it's what I do.
