I designed this hat for my husband, who wanted a Fair Isle hat, but didn’t like any pattern I could find. He picked the Fair Isle Motif from Mary Jane Muckelstone’s 200 Fair Isle Motifs. It is knit in an incredibly soft merino, which gives it crisp color contrast and a little bit of stretch. The hat fits close to the head, and is also very warm.
