Levade is a heart-shaped shawl worked from the bottom edge up. Beginning with a very long cast-on edge, the lace swoops through alternating waves, leaves, and medallion motifs. The faster-than-usual decreases creates a beautiful shape that clings well to shoulders.
The sample used almost all of an oversized skein of fingering-weight yarn – about 450 yards (412 m) total. Please take care to have enough yarn on hand.
Levade is fully charted, except for a few setup and finishing rows. Complete written translations for all charts are also provided.
