Knit carnation flower pattern: this beginner friendly PDF knitting pattern creates realistic knitted flowers perfect for spring decor, farmhouse style, and Mother’s Day.
In the pattern I am combine two techniques: round knitting and knitting by turning rows. Stem, petals and branches are knitted in separate parts and sewn.
All used techniques are shown in the «Techniques» section, and the terms are shown in the «Abbreviations» section (at the end of the pattern). Training videos have been added to the pattern. The pattern is intended for beginner users.
MATERIALS and TOOLS you will need to knitting carnation flower:
You can use any suitable wool/cotton yarn with similar footage and properties for the specified size. I use cotton Kartopu Organica 1,76 Oz/136 yrd (50 grams/125 meters), 100% cotton yarn for flower stem.
Circular needles with long line (from 23.6’’ (60cm)) for round knitting, or Addi Crazy Trio needles, or double pointed needles. I used US 2 (2,75mm) size needles.
