The Interlock Series was inspired by joins and transitions. There are three cowls in this series: Mitre, Dovetail, and Jigsaw (this one). Simple garter and twisted ribbing provide the squishy textures and offer both visual and structural interest.
The nature of ribbing is to collapse horizontally, whereas garter collapses vertically. So after blocking, this cowl will gently return to a flattering and comfortable shape for wearing around the neck.
Uses approx 210yd of DK or 10ply merino/wool for the single wrap length (pictured in this pattern), or 420yd for a double wrap.
You will need 4mm circular needles on 60cm cables, and a tapestry needle to sew the tubular ribbed bind off, and the ends.
Size of single wrap version: 40cm x 20cm, laid flat.
