It is worked from the top down in one piece, and is intended to fit with just a little positive ease. If your proportions are different from the pattern, it is not difficult to adjust it to fit. The garter collar is somewhere between a funnel, cowl and turtleneck. It is picked up and worked up from the main piece at the end, so can be made as shown, or easily adapted to be a narrower turtleneck or a wider and/or longer cowl. Suitable for a beginner who understands top down raglan construction.
