This sweater is designed to be a really relaxed knit that would be perfect to wear on a Summery days spent on the coast enjoying the seaside.
Denim yarn is one of my all time favourite yarns not only because it gives such great stitch definition and is really durable but it’s character continues to develop as the yarn fades with each wash. This design begins with a densely textured border of mosaic pattern worked in two colours (Rowan Denim & Handknit Cotton) and a selvedge at each side that makes a feature of the open seams which sit flatteringly on the hips. As a contrast the body is worked using the same chart motif but with simple knit and purl stitches in just Rowan Denim for a more subtle texture. This sweater is designed to be worn with 15 - 20 cm (6 - 8 inches ) of positive ease.
If you haven't previously worked with Rowan Denim it's designed to shrink after the initial wash and the pattern accounts for this so please use only the yarns listed to achieve the stated size / fit.
