Originally this pattern was going to just be for the hippo design but I soon realised it could be very easily adapted - and so I did!
I thought it was a bit mean to make them seperate patterns so here you get 2for1. Huzzah!
It's my first written pattern and I only learned to crochet a year ago, pretty much from all the wonderful Youtube videos that people have put out there, so there is nothing very complicated in this pattern. As an added bonus - there is no piecing together afterwards, the legs and head are incorporated into the body. I've included photos and tried to make everything clear and easy to read (something I struggle with!)
Gauge is not important so long as your hook matches your yarn.
The yarn and hook I've listed makes your animal about 8-10 cm high.
