Gwenn the Snowy Owl is part of Project Artctic. In Project Arctic I crochet different animals that live on or around the poles. They may live on the ice, in the air or in the water. What makes those animals special, is that many of them have a very different appearance when they’re young compared to when they are grown up. And that is very nice to crochet!
Gwenn looks like Hedwig from Harry Potter! These owls have a wingspan up to 1.5m. Adult males are mostly white with some dark colouring on the wings. The chicks start out grey for camouflage while still in the nest.
