The crochet pattern is for a footstool cover.
There are instructions within the pattern for how to adapt to fit your specific footstool.
I have used Rowan Moordale yarn which has a standard stocking stitch tension of 23sts x 30 rows with is very similar to a standard double knit. However because this cover is made to fit, then it is easier to substitute yarns.
