Goldenoak is a textured triangular shawl designed to play with colour. A relaxing stockinette start is broken by occasional garter ridges is followed by a decorative introduction of the second colour. This is followed by a short section of mosaic with slipped stitch cables floating over the top, leading into a beautifully textured lace edge, based on a secret code lace stitch by Naomi Parkhurst.
The shawl was designed for playing with speckled yarn, using a solid or semi solid for contrast. The pattern suits fingering weight yarn, ideally a solid colour and a complementary variegated. Gauge is not critical for this project - choose needles that give you a fabric you like.
Suitable for any yardage. The size of the shawl is adaptable, both the initial yoke and the lace sections can be worked to any size.
