This is a squishy, yet delicate, garter shawl with a large-scale beaded lace design and knitted-on, bead-accented border. The name comes from the Lord of The Rings world, in which Legolas and Gimli discuss walking together in the Glittering Caves in Rohan.
Finished Size: 22” depth, 84” wingspan
Yarn: Sheepy Time Knits MCN Lace (80% merino wool, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon) 575 yards/4 ounces, approximately 475 yards; or, any other heavy laceweight or light fingering yarn.
Needles: 24” circular needle, size 7 US (4.5mm), or size to obtain gauge.
Beads (optional): 6/0 seed beads, crochet hook to bead as you go.
Gauge: 16 stitches/28 rows per inch in blocked garter stitch; gauge is not critical for this item but will affect yardage and drape.
