These socks would be ideal for intermediate sock knitters who would like to try lace knitting.
The design for these socks was inspired by my Old Shale lace patterns. For many years, knitters have mistakenly referred to the Old Shale pattern as Feather and Fan. The construction of these two patterns have similarities (both have six increases and six decreases in each pattern repeat), but the resulting patterns are very different. As well as showing the variation between the Feather & Fan and Old Shale patterns, I’m also hoping to help knitters understand how cuff down socks with a traditional gusset develop with this very simple yet elegant sock pattern.
Pattern contains links to four tutorial videos on my YouTube channel to help with various techniques used while knitting these socks.
