Faux Isle Cocoon

This is a really easy, really quick bulky weight knitted shrug or cocoon. Sized to fit most, it is simply a rectangle folded over with a couple small seams, and an easy, attractive i-cord bind off. The shown cocoon uses 8 colors of bulky weight yarn. There is also a version that uses 4 colors (2 skeins of each) that enables you to carry the colors up the side, thus eliminating the many ends needed to weave in on the 8-color version. You choose! You can even use a different color every two rows for a marvelous way to use up scraps in your stash.

The colorwork is not Fair Isle, though it looks like it is! It is slip stitch or mosaic knitting. Very simple and quick. These cocoons/shrugs/boleros are very comfy and warm. I love to just throw them on and I'm out the door!
