Dr. Moreau summer stocking

This is a pattern for a decorative stocking using the Stranded colourwork knitting technique and is knit in the round and from the cuff down through most of the foot. Then the piece is worked flat and shaped by binding off stitches and then sewn together.

Duplicate Stitch and simple embroidery may be used to embellish or highlight any motif you like.

This pattern contains complex colourwork charts and is intended for knitters comfortable using charts and with experience working colourwork flat.

Also included is a small note about working short rows, in place of binding off, to shape the foot. I did not use this on my original sample, but one of the test knitters did and had beautiful results.
