Diminishing Returns

Designed to show off the beauty of a hand-dyed yarn, Diminishing Returns uses alternating sections of stockinette and garter to add texture to a great dye job. This shawl is worked from the top down, starting with a garter tab (for a which a separate photo tutorial is included with the pattern). To knit this pattern, you need to know how to knit and purl, do a provisional cast on (using any method), do directional increases (m1L and m1R), and pick up stitches along a garter edge (for the garter tab). Although the sample was worked using two skeins of the same color, this pattern could easily be modified to use two different colors. This pattern has been test knit and professionally tech edited.
