This pattern is made lengthways, so it takes a little time to get started and you need a little care when counting your foundation chain (stitch markers help!). Once you have completed the foundation you will find it works up quite quickly, with only 7 rows and one edging border. I love the diamond pattern (maybe I am a bit obsessed with it!) and have worked it into several items – shawl, wrap, scarves, a cowl, a pair of mitts and a hat, using different weights of yarn. They are all quite adaptable and feature in an ebook covering many variations on the diamond theme. The scarf is 15 cm (6 in) wide by 175 cm (66 in) long when blocked. The pattern is written in English and US crochet terms, and is charted.
