This is my favorite ruana design yet! Really. It is very versatile and can be worn in several different ways -- crossed in the front, open in the front, or one front panel over the shoulder. It fits a lot like a rectangular poncho, except that it is open in the front. As you can see from the photos, it has a beautiful drape in the back. And the optional fringe is so much fun!
This crochet pattern is listed as EASY - yay! It would be very suitable for a confident beginner.
This ruana is worked as one continuous piece -- no seams!.
The stitches for this pattern are double crochet (worked in various combinations of back loops and both loops) and chain spaces. Detailed instructions for making and adding the fringe are included as well. This ruana is basically one-size-fits-most, BUT I do provide a gauge and guidelines for altering the size.
