Christmas Steam Train Tea Cosy Knitting Pattern

The Christmas Steam Train Tea Cosy knitting pattern was inspired by bygone christmases when the snow fell heavier and steam trains were regularly seen carrying people home in time for Christmas with the family. One of my favourite Christmas films is the Polar Express. I think we have a nostalgic view of snow covered landscapes and stream trains.

This tea cosy has a little stream train weaving its way through frozen trees. The trees are worked in cable and were inspired by the tree of life style blankets.

The Christmas express steam train runs around the bottom of the cosy. There is one locomotive with smoke coming out from the chimney and behind it's pulling three carriages. The wheels of the train are small black buttons.

There is a very small amount of intarsia work on the carriages and train cab, but it's very limited and is just to create the windows. Easy enough for a beginner to have a try at.
