The Boyfriend Scarf is a simple cotton scarf. The fabric feels textured and heavy, making it a sturdy way to keep warm.
It uses 3 skeins of Blue Sky Fibers Organic Worsted Cotton in the color Graphite. This is a 100% organic cotton fiber. It's worsted and has a gauge of 4 - 5 sts / 1 inch on 4.5 - 5.5 mm (7 - 9 US) needles. Each skein is 100 grams / 150 yards. It can be worked on flat needles or cables. I used a 4.5 mm cable.
The care instructions state to machine wash gentle, cold and lay flat to dry. I'm not sure I'd put it in the machine as this material is prone to stretch, and I think the machine would accelerate that process. I plan on hand washing cold and laying flat to dry.
