A meadow full of blooming wild flowers is the ultimate embodiment of summer for me. This top mirrors that field of flowers with its lace yoke featuring the Estonian echo flower lace pattern – and wouldn’t it be beautiful to visit an actual blooming meadow in the heat of summer wearing this?
The lace yoke is worked bottom up from a provisional cast on, in order to make the flower lace turn the right way. Decreases are built in to the lace pattern and the stockinette stitch area above, and the neckline is finished with an i-cord bind off. The provisionally cast on sts are then picked up again, and the rest of the top is worked top down for the body and sleeve trim.
Apart from a few short rows for neckline shaping, the whole sweater is worked in the round.
