Alayna Shawl

Alayna shawl was designed for a friend who wanted an elegant and warm shawl for her bridesmaids. Pair it with a white shirt and jeans for a night out, over a dress, or wear it just to keep the chill away at home or office. You can style it many ways, with the bow in the front, on the shoulder, or in the back. Wear it as a cowl over a nice coat for extra warmth. The yarn color and optional embellishments easily change the look to match your needs. Directions are included to make embellishments like bows and pom-poms removable. Construction: The body of the shawl is knit flat in garter st and uses Judy’s Magic Cast-On as a provisional CO. Provisional sts are picked up to finish the left front side of the shawl. Detailed instructions are provided for creating the pleats that give the shawl its “built-in” drape. Buttons can be sewn on for an invisible look with options for a removable bow or pom-poms. Button holes are not needed.
