Aisneach Mitts

Meaning “ribbed” in Scottish Gaelic, Aisneach is a simple but fun fingerless mitts pattern designed to show off any yarn to its best! The mitts feature textured ribbed columns wrapping around the outside of the hand opposite the thumb. For a different look, swap the left and right mitts over and show off more of the ribbed pattern on the back of the hand! These mitts are a quick and easy knit and with six sizes they’ll fit everyone from teen to adult.

The pattern is fully written instructions and also includes a photo tutorial for a super stretchy cast on called the Estonian Cast-On for the bottom of the glove and the backward loop cast-on. The pattern has been tech edited and test knitted. There’s a screenshot of the pattern, and a list of the stitches used at the bottom of the photos. Note on sizing - The size given is the finished size. The mitts are designed to be worn with up to 0 - 1.25 cm (0 - 0.5”) of negative ease.
