    Beschreibung

    I wanted to make a modern relaxed sweater using a pretty variegated DK yarn which had been languishing in the attic for decades. Whether or not I had bought a specific pattern for it back in the day I have no idea, couldn't find one anyway so I set about finding something suitable and the one I downloaded from LoveKnitting designed for Hayfield Illusion looked like it would work well. I chose the curved hem version as it was up-to-date and different from anything I had. I was not disappointed but am very grateful for the tutorials on Short Rows as I had never come across this technique before (I know, I've led a sheltered existence !)

    Notizen I knitted a tension square which came up pretty exact according to the pattern. The actual garment is quite baggy whcih is just how I wanted it! I made it about 1.5 cm longer than the pattern stated. I made the welt in co-ordinating plain yarn I had hanging around as I was concerned I wouldn't have quite enough Cachet (I had 9 x 50g balls vs 5 x 100g balls in the pattern requirements) but in fact there was a ball left over which I am now attempting to make into a beret knitted in the round.
