You can knit these hearts in Super Chunky yarn on 9mm knitting needles or Chunky (Aran) weight yarn on 6mm needles- because they're worked on such large needles each heart knits up satisfyingly fast!
The seven-page pattern takes you step-by-step through the colourworking and lots of photographs are included to help you. To knit this pattern you will just need to be able to cast on and off, knit, purl, and work increasing and decreasing stitches (Kfb, K2tog, P2tog).
Images show big hearts knitted from King Cole Big Value Super Chunky in Red and Champagne (first image) and Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky in Washed Teal and Rowan Big Wool in Cerise (second image). The smaller hearts are knitted from Scheepjes Chunky Monkey in Hot Pink and Punch. You can of course use any other same-weight yarns you like.
