Aran & Worsted Weight Yarn

Aran and worsted weight yarns give you speedy makes with beautiful stitch definition. Aran or worsted - what's the difference?

They're close cousins rather than the same thing. Worsted weight yarn is slightly finer and usually knits at around 20 stitches to 10cm; aran (sometimes called heavy worsted or 10 ply) is a touch heavier at around 18 stitches. In practice many patterns work with either, provided you swatch.
