Product Details
Nottingham is a challenging and intriguing hooded cowl inspired by the Middle Ages, and a more elaborate cousin of Sherwood with more everything.
Challenge level: Decidedly. Especially rows 11-13. (The rest is pretty straight forward, if that helps.)
- The oak leaves at the bottom edge really are quite challenging to knit in some rows. An extra long and flexible circular needle is required (120cm+ if possible), or failing that, a second set of needles (though one tester did manage with a hair raising number of DPNs.
- Sizing is adaptable - the depth & width of the hood can be adjusted as can the size of the cape.
- Yardage is somewhat adaptable as both hood & liripipe can be worked to any length.
Requirements:
-700-1000m DK yarn.
-Size 3.5mm (US size 4 - or to suit gauge) circular needles of 150cm/60” or 2 circular needles of 80cm/32”. A shorter length (60-80cm/24-42”) may be easier for the hood and neck.
-3 DPNs for liripipe, 3.5mm (US size 4)
Pictured hood used 560m (700y).
