Product Details

When the freezing temps of winter set in, waterfalls are frozen in stalactite formations. Imagine such a wintery scene in icy shades of rustic tweed, with cables nested between ribbed columns - a cool design offset by woollen warmth!

The Frozen FallsFingerless Mitts are worked bottom up in the round. They are cast on and bound off in 1/1 ribbing using the tubular method for knitting in the round. Online video tutorials are suggested if this is a new technique to you. A lattice pattern decorates the upper hand, a textured rib pattern on the palm, and a defining rib on either side. The thumbs are designed without a gusset. Instructions with charts provided.

Gauge: 26 sts and 28 rows to 10 cm/4 in using a 3.75 mm circ needle in cables and ribs stitch pattern.

Techniques used: provisional cast-on; tubular cast-on and bind-off in the round for 1x1 ribbing; backward loop cast-on; knitting in the round; cables; twisted knit stitches; purl stitches together.
