I’d recommend having a full skein of the color you would like for your hippo, just in case, because it uses approximately 150 yards. There are also some small accessories you can make written in the pattern: teeth (white yarn, less than 3 yards), hat (black, less than 2 yards) and bow (blue, less than 2 yards).
