Product Details
This lace snood, knitted flat, is worked sideways from a temporary cast-on, knitted to the desired length and then grafted to form a closed ring. The lace stitch is fairly simple and would be great for a relative beginner to lace knitting. Judy has knitted her snood using a heavy laceweight yarn from Fyberspates, called Cumulus. This has a glistening silk core with a gentle halo of baby alpaca, which creates a fabric with a beautiful drape and a delicate haze. There are many possible variations - knit this snood as long or short, wide or narrow as you please and with or without the "tails". Also, the garter stitch border along one side allows you to block your cowl to a curve or stretched out straight as in the model garment. The choices are yours.
