Viljanen Mittens feature a lovely lace pattern with bobbles. This is a small-scale project to learn bobble knitting. The mittens are worked with yarn held triple. Two sport-weight threads are held together with one lace-weight silk mohair. The chart is written out.
GAUGE: 15.5 sts & 26 rows = 4 x 4”/10 x 10 cm in Stockinette st using larger (US 8/5 mm) needles The mittens are worked with yarn held triple: Sport-weight merino wool was held double with a strand of silk mohair.
MATERIALS: YARN: The Uncommon Thread Everyday Sport (100% sw merino 3.5 oz/100g/330yds/300 m/skein) color Lust. You need 0.9 skein or 297yds/270 m. AND Filcolana Tilia (70% kid mohair, 30% silk; 25g/230yds/210 m/skein). You need 0.75 skein or 173yds/158 m. Color 213 Fuchsia. Work Everyday Sport as double and Filcolana Tilia as one thread (three yarns worked together).
