Product Details
This is a fairly loose fitting hat. Don’t be daunted by the many rows and pages of instructions for this pattern. I wrote out each row for convenience and to be a beginner friendly hat pattern. This way there is no guessing at the sequence of increases and decreases for the brim. This hat knits simply and easily. I recommend checking off each row as it is completed.
Yarn: Worsted wt. yarn suggested for a 23 - 24” circumference. DK will give a smaller circumference. Sample uses: Plymouth Select Worsted Merino Superwash, 100 gr/ 218 yds, 2 skeins. One of each color.
Gauge: 20 sts = 4” in stockinette stitch knit flat.
Needles: 16” circular and 1 set double pointed in US7,depending on your gauge.
M1: Create a new stitch by using the right needle to pick up the thread between stitches and place on left needle. Using right needle, knit into the back of this stitch.
