Product Details
The Treble Jig Legwarmers are the seventh pattern in my series, All the Jigs and Reels.
The treble jig is danced in hard (or heavy) shoes, and usually follows the treble reel in learning order. Like the light jig, it is in 6/8 time, so I’ve once again used a braid cable. To complement the braids I used a waffle st reminiscent of the poodle (or bubble) socks worn by competitive Irish dancers, and the younger dancers in performances.
The Treble Jig Legwarmers are worked in the round, and I have included both written and charted instructions.
Additional gauge information 17 sts (1 repeat of the stitch pattern) = 2.25”/5.5 cm, blocked 20 rnds (5 repeats of the pattern) = 3”/7.5 cm, blocked
Due to the elastic nature of the patterns used, there’s quite a bit of leeway in fit. Length can be easily adjusted longer or shorter as taste dictates, keeping in mind that longer warmers will require more yarn than the amount given above. (Pictured is the first size on a model/dancer with 16"/37 cm calves)
