Designed in a super chunky yarn, this is a really quick Christmas knit, ideal for intermediate or confident beginner knitters! It is worked from the top down and features a fold down rib cuff, a moss stitch leg and foot which creates a beautifully textured finish, a shaped toe and an afterthought heel. Techniques include working in the round, knit and purl stitches, picking up stitches, decreases and grafting (Kitchener stitch). Finished circumference is 35cm/14in, finished length (with cuff folded down) is 47cm/19in approx.
Original yarn used is 1 x 200g ball of 'Stylecraft Special XL Super Chunky' (136m/148yds per 200g) in 'Silver 1203' - 9sts and 12rows using 10mm/US15 needles to 10cm/4in over st st. Bulky/Super Chunky yarns with a similar tension/gauge will work with this pattern, as tension is not critical but will affect the final size of the stocking.
