This is the pattern for a star appliqué.

I’ve used 8 ply cotton and a 1.5mm crochet hook but you can use different sizes depending on what you’re most comfortable with.
I used silver crochet cotton.
A crochet hook, I used a 1.5mm hook.
Scissors.
Darning needle to weave in ends.
