An individual pattern from The Shetland Trader-Book One - a collection of 10 patterns inspired by the Shetland Islands from designer Gudrun Johnston with photography by Jared Flood.
Solan (gannet): gannets gather in large numbers on the cliffs in Shetland, circling around for the perfect spot to fold up their wings and dive arrow-like into the depths of the North Sea. The defined V shapes and deep blue colour of this shawl reminded me of these graceful Shetland residents.
