Product Details
I always thought I knew what Christmas should look like - cosy, classic, traditional. And then I had a kid. Well, that was a huge life lesson in letting go of how I think things should be! Gone are the days of my understated, colour coordinated, perfectly positioned baubles on the tree. Now its decorations in all the colours of the rainbow all bundled around my kid’s current eye level. And, you know what? I love it! So, here I am with my updated vision of the perfect Christmas knitting project, originally designed for Issue 174 of Knit Now magazine… a traditional colourwork mitten just made a bit more “merry and bright.”
Worked in the round, each mitten is cast on at the cuff and knit down the hand. Along the way, you will increase along one side to create thumb stitches (which you will place on scrap yarn and come back to at the end) before working a block of 2-colour stranded colourwork and then decreasing symmetrically along each side to close the fingertips.
