Design:

The hat is knitted flat on straight needles and has a Christmas penguin motif. The motif is knitted following a chart and using the intarsia method. The penguin’s hat pompom is knitted up and sewn on separately. You will need to sew the back seam and add a pompom to the top.

Yarn:

The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).

The picture shows the outfit knitted using Stylecraft Special DK in shades: Cornish Blue (1841), White (1001), Black (1002), Red (Lipstick 1246) and Mustard (1823).
