The pattern calls for foundation SC/DC but a chain can be used though there would be less "give"
My youngest child thinks this hat looks like a Darlek and as she is only 2 Darleks say "ne ne NATE".
This pattern uses SC/DC, HDC/HTR, decreases, foundation stitches, and bobble stitches (tutorials available on my blog)
