Product Details
A multi coloured motif baby blanket, knitted in one piece. The pattern uses worsted (10 ply) yarn, I have knitted this in Rowan’s Handknit Cotton but an alternative yarn can be used as long as the required tension is achieved.
Gauge - 20 sts x 28 rows to a 10 cm / 4” square of stocking stitch on 4mm (UK 8, US 6) needles.
The blanket requires 5 separate colours: 765 m / 837 yds of the main colour and 85 m / 93 yds of each of the motif colours.
The pattern comes with instructions for a single size blanket, measuring approximately 73 x 108 cm (28.75” x 42.5”).
The blanket is knitted in one piece with a moss stitch border and requires intarsia and stranded methods of knitting. The blanket is finished with Swiss Darning and French Knot detail. The ability to work from a chart is required.
Skills required: cast on, bind off, knit and purl, intarsia knitting, stranded knitting, Swiss darning and French Knot embroidery.
