Product Details
Original yarn by Jamieson & Smith yarn available direct from www.shetlandwoolbrokers.co.uk.The original yarns are recomm. for best results.
If substituting yarns, be sure they will felt. 100% wool yarn, preferably at least 50% Shetland recommended. New Lanark yarns are possible subs or look at www.yarnsub.com for other suggestions.
The pattern includes Ettrick, Macduff and Poacher felted bags. Macduff and Ettrick are charted, also instructions are given for hand and machine felting and for making I-cord. Macduff finished measurements are approximately 25cm (10 in) square at the base and 40 cm (15 in)tall, Poacher is approximately 22cm (81/2 in) square at the base and 25cm (10 in) tall and Ettrick is approximately 28cm (11 in) square.
Ettrick and Macduff are worked in Jamieson & Smith Soft Spun (now called Shetland Aran) 100% Shetland wool, 90m/98yds per 50g ball, 2/3.6Nm.
Poacher uses several strands of Jamieson & Smith 2ply Lace joined and broken off at intervals to create the shading.
