Product Details
Irena is a stylish and versatile wrap with a surprisingly simple shape. Meandering cables and lace create an alluring all-over texture with an oriental feel.
The wrap is knitted sideways and comes with both charted and written instructions. The fabric is finished with a border of single crochet which incorporates 2 button loops.
Gauge:
11 ¾ sts and 15 ¼ rows = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette stitch.
12 sts and 15 rows = 4” (10 cm) in pattern after blocking.
Since the wrap is worked sideways, your row gauge will determine the width and therefore the fit of the wrap.
Yarn: 440 (490, 530, 650, 700, 740, 790, 830) yd of Malabrigo Yarn Chunky (100% merino) – 104 yd (95 m) per 3.53 oz (100g) in Polar Morn. Substitute with any bulky weight yarn (CYCA#5) with good stitch definition.
Skills needed: Casting on and binding off; knitting and purling; working basic lace; working basic cables; crocheting edges.
