The word Ihana is a Finnish word meaning lovely. My maternal great grandparents are 1st Generation Americans after their parents immigrated from Finland. My grandmother passed down the art of crochet to my mother who then passed it down to me. This pattern is dedicated to my great-great grandparents for making the journey to Michigan from Finland, my great grandmother Vivi, my grandmother Carole, and my mother Alica. I am honored to carry on such a long history of artists. Thank you for sharing your gifts with me. I love you all.
This convertible cowl is worked flat and then fastened with buttons to be worn one of two ways: as a traditional cowl or as a triangle scarf. Full of texture and with delicate shells, this cowl will quickly become a favorite to make and wear.
