The Hawkins tam features a combination of rib, stockinette, and slipped stitch patterns. Use a chunky or heavy worsted weight yarn like Knit Picks’ Simply Wool to make those textured stitches pop and whip up in no time at all.

Simply Wool Bulky from Knit Picks (100% wool) 193 yards (176 m) / 100 g 3.53 oz) per skein: 1 skein for all sizes; shown in Wilbur (larger size) and Wendy (smaller size) Or 100 (120) yards of bulky weight yarn US 9 (5.5 mm) 16” circular needles and double-pointed needles (or size required to obtain gauge) or long circular needles for magic loop US 8 (5 mm) 16” circular needles or one size smaller than main needles
