Modular knitting, the technique used in this scarf, is a fun and simple way to create unique designs with color stripes. This scarf combines modular knitting, shaping and lace to create a repeating diamond pattern. The example scarf uses a color-shift from dark, to medium to light of similar hues, then back to dark. A one-way color shift with five shades of the same hue will also work well, or choose a selection of coordinating colors to use up leftover yarns. Once you try module knitting you will be hooked and will have many ideas for additional designs.
