I have been fascinated with the lateral braid for long. Long enough to experiment with it and add something innovative to knitting projects. Here I have not only worked the braid on the RS but tested it on the WS to give a nice textured effect.
The Blanket is worked flat from bottom to top and then the border is added by picking and knitting sts along each edge.
Yarn DK/8ply (11 wpi)? Koigu Kersti Merino Crepe, each skein - 114 yards (104 meters), 50 grams (1.76 ounces) MC’s for body: 1 skein each of 7 colors (1 - 1010.5, 2 - 1043, 3 - 2180, 4 - 2100, 5 - 2180, 6 - 1240 and 7- 2200) CC for body: 1 skein of color - 2170 MC for border: 3 skeins of color - 2170 CC for border: 2 skeins of color - 1010.5
