Athalia is a crescent shawl worked from the bottom up. The bottom edge is lace, worked in three colors, and the body of the shawl is worked in simple stockinette stitch. Short rows are used to shape the shawl.

**Yarn** Baah Aspen (75% merino, 15% silk, 10% cashmere; 330 yd [302 m]/3 1/2 oz [100 g]): aubergine (MC) 1 skein; amethyst (CC1), rosa (CC2), 1 skein each.
**Needles** Sizes 6 (4 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm): 40" circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
**Notions** Tapestry needle.
**Gauge** 15 sts and 24 rows = 4" in St st on smaller needles.
