Anchor Baby Cardigan

This pattern is designed especially for those new to knitting or with little experience. I’ve made it as clear and detailed as possible so that even a beginner can confidently create a baby cardigan.

This beginner-friendly pattern helps you create a cozy, top-down baby sweater with an anchor embroidered on the front. It worked in one piece from the neckline down, with raglan shaping and a charming asymmetrical front closure along the left raglan line. The pattern includes row-by-row written instructions, making it perfect for beginners or knitters who want step-by-step guidance. You can print it and check off each row as you go! You’ll begin with neckline shaping using short rows, continue with raglan increases, work the sleeves flat, and then finish the body.

The cardigan is worked on 3.25 mm (US 3) needles, cuffs are worked in 1x2 rib on 3 mm (US 2 ½) needles with 2 strands of Etrofil ICELAND. This pattern includes 5 separate sizes (5 instructions), from newborn to 4 years.
