壽 Kotobuki 寿 longevity
Kotobuki combines traditional filet crochet with triple crochet petals in a lacy, open pattern. The infinity scarf is intended to be wrapped around the neck twice. The wider version was designed to work through the color progression in a single ball of Freia Ombre Lace. The design works equally well with a single-colored yarn or a combination of laceweight leftovers.
The Moebius construction allows the colors to build from the center out, mirrored to the border.
Instructions for a modification for a narrower version are included along with 2 methods of establishing the Moebius twist. A single layer cowl can be made by starting with half the stated fsc sts.
This is an Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate Level project due to the set-up rounds. This project is worked in laceweight yarn and begins with just over 400 fsc sts.The first 2 rnds require patience and attention to detail.
